Can you believe that back to school supplies are already on display and summer vacation is nearly half over? I love summer because it is a fun time for family portraits. The warm weather has landscapes across our valley alive and bursting with color. This backdrop provided the perfect opportunity for my time with the Stanger family. We had so much fun down at Shoshone Falls Park. Kip and Leejean's family grew this year with the birth of their fifth child. They decided it was time update their family portrait because it has been quite some time since their last portrait was taken.
Has it been a while since your last family portrait has been updated? There is no better than the present to schedule a session with your family today.
Watching Marlee grow up over the past 9 months has been so much fun! She is growing like a weed which make me happy and sad all at the sometime. It's like watching my children grow up all over again. The car in the pictures her dad fixed up right before her newborn images so every few months we have incorporated it in to her growing up sessions. Here in a few more months this little one is going to turn ONE years old!! Her parents and I are already planning for her cake smash session. It's exciting to share these mile stones with them. Keep an eye out for her Cake Smash blog in a few short months.
The busy summertime season is upon us. I know I can't believe that school is going to be out in a few short weeks. Then vacations, lessons and then fair time will be upon us. It happens as fast as a blink of an eye that fair time and fall will be here. It's a great time to thinking of your fall family sessions. Yes, if you would like a summer session I can make that happen too. I'll leave with a family session taken last summer at Shoshone Falls.
Everley Kliegl came to the studio for a newborn session. At a mere 14 days old she was a perfect little angel that I love photographing (and cuddling, too!) Every newborn is special and Everley while was a very calm baby, she just didn't like when I tried a tummy pose. That was just fine, we were able to get some adorable pictures that her family are sure to treasure for years to come.
I've been adding one special image to newborn collections, and for this is one I put Everley in a flower! It is stunning!
Congratulations Kliegl family on your new addition!
Congratulation Jestin and Sara on your upcoming wedding in August. I'm looking forward to capturing your precious memories in Idaho most iconic areas.
Sun Valley Idaho made the perfect backdrop for this couple’s engagement images! What looked like what going to be a very cold day turned out to be beautiful and we got some amazing shots. Jestin and Sara both love the mountains so we had incorporated them into their theme. We Started the day getting a coffee at Starbucks and utilized the business' amazing woodland architecture for some cute images! Then we were off to the mountain side for a little walking and having fun together!
I'm so blessed that you are friends and clients. Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day and story.
Twin Falls County Fair
Labor Day has come and gone, the kids are back in school and crisp morning air means fall is right around the corner. With that, Twin Falls County Fair in Filer, Idaho was a wild success. I had the opportunity to attend the fair and met so many wonderful people and children last week at my booth and had a lot of fun, too. I wanted to thank the community for showing their support for my photography and art as it means so much to me to have the visitors and fans stop by to say hello!
Many of you that came by my booth entered to win $300.00 studio credit!!! (see the bottom of this blog post for the names of the winners). Thank you for everyone that entered and congratulations to those that won!

This year was the Twin Falls County Fair's 100th year anniversary and coming from a 4-H background and entering in the fair has a family tradition for me and my kids! As a child, I grew up in the sheep barn and entered sewing projects. Today, my children enjoy entering their produce and homemade goods! For it would not be the fair with out entering images in the photography competition. I entered six prints this year and five of those placed, with three of them earning blue ribbons and two receiving reds. However, I'm very proud that my blue ribbon prints also received best of color and the Magic Valley Camera Club award!
Thank you again to everyone that came by my photography booth to tell me how much you enjoyed the images. I enjoyed your company and support and couldn't practice my passion with it
If you didn't make it out below are some of the images for you to enjoy!
